The Expo West project, the concept for which was a important output from our Andersonstown Gateway Study, has now progressed to an international design
competition.
The overarching objective was to inform and shape the future development of this strategically positioned gateway. The study involved the assessment
of a number of key 'opportunity sites' including Andersonstown Police station, that can individually and collectively secure the transformation of the area by creating real sustainable investment opportunities that
will benefit all of the community. An important output from the study was our proposal that the Police Station or 'Barracks' site be designated as 'Expo West' performing a role fusing the compatible agendas of
Economic development and community need.
