This challenging scheme began with an existing eight bedroom chalet bungalow set high above the coastline at Whitehead. The dwelling's deep plan and long  unlit corridors resulted in dark spaces and little use of the amazing views over the sea.

Our design objective was to split the existing dwelling into two separate dwellings and re-oriente them to take full advantage of the sea views and an axis towards Bangor which was used to generate angles on the plan.

Our redesign has further allowed light to penetrate deeper into the plan form.
